Welcome!

We are an active, welcoming chess club in Edinburgh.

We are located at Slateford Bowling club, where we have access to a spacious playing hall.

As well as playing in the Edinburgh League, we are actively running club nights with club championship, lightning and social chess games available.

We drew 3-3 against Sandy Bells in the final of the Summer Plate.

With a ½ point advantage on the handicap this was enough to secure the Plate with a 4-3½ score.

A busier 2nd night of the season with four graded friendlies and four others playing shorter 5+3 games.

The chess club has reopened again for season 2025-26 with two graded friendlies being played.
