Excellent wins for Eric and Stuart against higher graded opponents!

Eric defeated Charles with the white pieces. Although black was a pawn up out of the opening, his queenside pieces were undeveloped giving white some compensation. Did not see how it finished in the end.
Stuart defeated Crawford with a French Defence. White played the Horwitz, Papa-Ticulat Gambit for the first time with an early Qg4. (Possibly the last time!) Black built up some pressure against white’s castled queenside but later allowed a tactic that lost a central pawn. A further pawn was lost but with some compensation due to active rook. White in some time pressure did not defend well enough and later allowed a nice a2+ tactic to win a bishop and reach a winning position.
Sandy and Simeon had a level game. Did not see the finish but apparently in the end Simeon took a perpetual check.
