Paul bravely gave up his g2 pawn, played Ke2 to allow doubled rooks on the g file!
In position below after black played 40..Bc8 the position is level according to the engine.
With the bishop seemingly going to win the exchange against the rook on g4 it was necessary to play Bg7 check.
If black takes bishop on g7 then white gets the bishop on c8.
An exciting game for both players!
