Five second round games in the club championship were played on Monday 14th November 2022.
Club Championship
Good to see Brian back at the club and was unlucky to lose to Nick.
Sandy looked to have a winning position if he played pawn to e5 to block the centre but instead captured pawn on h5 which allowed d5 pawn to capture on e6 losing a bishop.
Sam Clucas got the better of Derek McCann in the battle of the new members.
Douglas and Isaac had an interesting middle game that eventually led to a drawn opposite bishop ending.
Allan had better space control and trapped Paul’s queen in the centre of the board.
