The higher graded players winning out in the end.
Crawford and Andrew played some closely fought 15 minute games.

Patrick played the Kings Gambit against Mathew, gaining the upper hand but not as decisively as it perhaps should have been. In the end he narrowly avoided simplification down to having to checkmate with king and bishop and knight versus king!
New member João put up a good fight against Allan.
Isaac and Charles played a Nimzo Indian defence where white may have been better to play 7. Qd4 to delay black capturing back one of the tripled pawns.

5... Bc3 6. bc3 Tripled pawns?! 6... Na6 7. c6 Not quite sure the merit in this.
Perhaps looking for queen exchange [7. Qd4 At least keeps black watching exchanging on f6 and keeps knight on the side of the board for now] 7... dc6 8. Qd8 Kd8 9. e4 Tempting to exploit pin on Nf6 but better to develop
