Second team draw with Pentland Hills 2

A hard fought draw against Pentland Hills 2.
Eric had an early draw on Board 1.
Richard Josey had some early pressure but lost a P. A series of exchanges led to a R and P endgame where Terry Purkins had the upper hand and forced the win of a second P and then the game.
Derek had a much better position going into the middlegame and won material. His opponent, under considerable pressure, blundered and resigned.
Sandy’s game developed into a R and P endgame. Both players had winning chances but eventually agreed a draw.
My opponent played Bc4 and d3 against my Sicilian. I exchanged pieces to relieve white’s pressure and eventually won a P. My opponent then overlooked a back rank mate.
Nick had at least an even position but spent a lot of time looking for a way to improve his position. He then ran into serious time trouble - at one point he had four moves to make in 10 seconds. When the dust settled at the time control, he was two Ps in arrear and his pieces were tied to the back rank. Loss of a further P was inevitable and Nick resigned.
