Second team beat the Tiger Cubs

The 2nd team had a great result against Tiger cubs who are sitting close to the top of the table.
Gerry’s young opponent lost a piece in the opening and Gerry decided to execute a plan to exchange material and win the endgame. This was achieved in the end but there was some uncertainty on whether the digital clock had been set correctly.
The Tiger Cubs have a few players that have represented Scotland. Derek’s opponent, Florence Wilson, competed in the World Youth Chess Championship 2022 - Girls U-16 recently in October 2022.
A great result for the team and well done to everyone!
