Four first round games in the club championship were played on Monday 21st October 2024.
Two graded friendlies were played.
Club Championship
Charles had a quick win against off form João.
Andrew had rook for bishop and some pawns in an endgame against Richard. Certainly drawish with bishop supporting extra pawns but Andrew pressed for the win and lost.
Despite moving minor pieces to offside squares, Sam had some chances especially when he sacrificed bishop for some further pawns blunting whites attack. While looking like he may win on time. moving queen to a bad square dropped a piece and the position was lost.
Nick and Eric had an epic battle with Nick holding his nerve in a time scramble endgame to win on time.
