The second team get back to winning ways with a 4½ - 1½ victory over Sandy Bells 2.

I drew, Patrick lost. William, Ralph, Douglas and Sam won.

Didn’t see much of William’s win but he was a piece up in the middle game and converted his advantage.

Ralph’s opponent launched a K side attack from outset and sacrificed a N for a K side P to continue the attack. The sacrifice was unsound and Ralph defended accurately, exchanged Qs and pushed through a passed central P to force a win.

Douglas managed to squeeze out a win in very long R&P ending - the game went to over 90 moves.

Didn’t see any of Partick’s game.

I won a B for a P playing a Dutch Leningrad against 1.d4 but white had mating threats so as at that point we were 3-1 ahead gave the piece back to get an ending with opposite coloured bishops and locked pawn chains and ensure a draw.

Sam was down in material in an end game which came down to B v P. Sam managed to win the B and promote his P to win.
