A few late call offs but an excellent turn out of seventeen players took part in the Spring Allegro.

Two qualifying sections were played over 7 rounds with Sam Clucas winning his section. The other section was a tie between Euan McDiarmid and Douglas Heatlie who had drawn their individual game. A play off with 5 minutes each was drawn, but Douglas managed to win a 2nd play off with 4 minutes each.

A play off for the trophy was then played between Douglas and Sam, with Sam having 8 minutes and 4 minutes for Douglas.

With opposite side castling, Douglas’s attack proved to be the quicker, stronger and resulted in him winning the trophy.
