The Autumn Allegro had a strong turn out of eighteen players, with new members Marcel, Tom, Joe and Keith playing for the first time.

Two qualifying sections were played over 7 rounds with Crawford Macnab and Euan McDiarmid winning their respective sections.

In the first section, Euan was undefeated taking points off Allan and Marcel. Apparently in a few games, he was set to lose on time but just sneaked the win.

In the second section, Crawford finished first, defeating Richard who was in clear second place.

In the play off between Euan and Crawford, it was a Sicilian Defence where Crawford developed some initiative against the Black king but at the crucial moment failed to captitalize on this and allowed too many exchanges that relieved the pressure on Black. With the position simplified, Black won some pawns and made no mistake in the endgame.
